Let me explain about the rare and very precious traditional breed Ryukyu* pig “Agu”
*Ryukyu is Okinawa country name before the Japanese government centralized its administrative powers by abolishing the fief system and setting up a more modern unit of local administration called the ken (prefecture)

“Agu”
is a traditional breed Okinawa
indigene pig and is very precious. About 600 years from now, the small “island pig”, that was introduced from China and Okinawan people breed, is the origin. |

“Agu” ’s meat qualities has the sweetness and the taste of marbled beef, it is rated better, compare to other pig generally sold in the market. |

Compared
to other pigs “Agu” pigs are
very small and matures more
slowly. An Adult “Agu” pig weighs about 110kg when normal pigs weigh from 200~300kg. |

We
sample the cell from the “Agu”
that is raised in Okinawa,
and analyze the DNA. We register the information of “Agu” based on DNA and body type. For each “Agu”pigs, we put ear tags with IC chips on them for Individual Identification. |
